Widgets panel not displaying in the Theme Customizer

I am using the Theme Customizer to let users customize how their website looks. I noticed on the Twenty Fifteen theme there is a panel for Widgets. I have seen this on quite a few other themes too, and the code for the panel has not been added to customizer.php (as far as I can tell) On my theme, I have a few sidebars on the homepage. You can customize the widgets through Appearance > Widgets menus, however the Widgets panel in the customizer is not displaying. How can I…

Admin toolbar not displaying on pages

The admin bar displays on the dashboard, but does not display on pages or posts. I’m working with a child theme of Twenty Thirteen that I did not code. I’m a beginning level coder and work mostly with builders. So the builder plugin I installed is also not showing up either. I’ve read some potential causes and checked those off. There are things I’ve tried that did not correct the problem: The display is set correctly in the user settings. I logged out as an admin, logged in as a…

Redirect when click on "response" in comment section

I use a custom template for some of my categories. These categories offer a comment section in which a user can reply to an comment. The problem is, that the use (after clicking on the reply link) is redirected to the default singele-view template. Can I change the redirect target to my custom post page? Is there any hook or filter? I had the same problem after submitting the comment, but this could be solved by adding a filter/action ‘comment_post_redirect’. Thanks for your help! Wampserver: "Can’t select database"

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and had to reinstall WampServer to get it running. I’d like to reinstall WordPress for a local WampServer site. I have deleted the old database and username, and created a new user + associated database of the same name. I left the password blank. When I try to run the install, I get to http://ssdhdd/wp-admin/setup-config.php?step=2 and the error: Can’t select database We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to…

Show media-frame-menu on custom Media Frame

I have a plugin I built that adds a custom media frame with the following: media_frame = wp.media.frames.media_frame = wp.media({ title: ‘Select your images’, button: { text: ‘Use Image’ }, multiple: false }); media_frame.open(); This produces a media frame that looks like this: Thus far, this has been all I needed, but my site uses WordPress Multisite and I’m trying to add in the Network Shared Media plugin. However, Network Shared Media requires the media-frame-menu sidebar in order to access network images. I can see the sidebar when I click…

Sort by date, then by time

We have « events » that are specific dates, so the page is set to put the events based on the day of the event first – then they should be sorted by the time the event takes place. The dates are fine — all the proper events are under the proper dates. But the times are not consistent. About 80% of them are correct but every once in a while one falls out of place….so I may see something like this: (DAY 2 shows the issue) DAY 1 8:00am – 10:00am…
